June 12, Jurong Country Club: After two years in which the event had to be aborted due to inclement weather, the third time proved to be the charm.

And, finally, we have a winner’s name to engrave on the Challenge trophy: Ms Alicia Peh from Changi Golf and Country Club. She carded a gross 86.

Just a half-hour before the shotgun afternoon start, the heavens opened and it looked like yet another rained out event. Forty-five minutes after the scheduled start and it seemed like we had to move to Plan B – reschedule the event – the rain stopped and the skies cleared!

JCC’s chilli and onion must have had some super extra power!

All 122 players – the biggest field the event has seen in recent memory – cheered and dashed to the buggy bay.  Game On.

The theme for the game and dinner was STARS, and it could ot have been more appropriate as every player that day was an Evergreen Star – from sportingly donning amazing star spangled golf and dinner attire, to wholeheartedly participating in the evening’s programme.

And can you Evergreen ladies boogie!

To all you wonderful ladies who repeatedly sign up to participate in Evergreen games, and to the so many who have also generously stepped forward to sponsor food, drinks and prizes – THANK YOU.

See you at the next Evergreen Meet at Raffles Country Club on 19 August 2015.
